Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 builds on the foundation of its predecessor, retaining key gameplay elements while introducing new features. With 23 fighting stages spread across nine chapters, including a prologue and an extra chapter, the game allows characters to unlock fresh combos and jutsu through the activation of the Awakening Mode. Notably, Tekken 6’s Lars Alexandersson joins the playable roster. As the narrative unfolds, players progressively unlock new Jutsu and Ultimate Jutsu for specific characters.

Support characters play a significant role, featuring two new elements. The game replaces the original’s free-roaming with traditional JRPG screens, featuring diverse environments beyond the Leaf Village, including forests, deserts, and the Hidden Sand Village. Boss battles are enhanced with quick time events and cutscenes. Online features include quick matches, ranked matches, match customization, and the ability to host matches, providing a dynamic multiplayer experience.
